WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. House of Representatives will debate House Resolution 385, "Honoring Men And Women Of The U.S. Customs Service, 6 World Trade Center Offices, For Their Commitment And Service During The Terrorist Attacks On The World Trade Center On September 11, 2001," today at approximately 2:15 p.m. EST.
Representative Xavier Becerra (CA - 30), a member of the Ways and Means Committee's Subcommittee on Trade, will manage the floor debate on the resolution for the Democratic side. The legislation honors the continued dedication of the men and women assigned to the U.S. Customs Service, New York operations. It also recognizes the critical importance of the Customs Service on the frontline of our national security efforts and it supports providing the necessary resources to ensure the full operation of the Customs Service not only in New York, but nationwide as well.
House Resolution 385 was introduced by Rep. Ernest Istook, Jr. (OR - 5) on April 10, 2002, where it was then referred to the House Ways and Means Committee.
