The Genomic Research and Accessibility Act Twenty percent of the human genome has been patented. To put it another way, 20 percent of your body is owned by somebody else. This legislation would put an immediate halt to the practice of gene patenting.

Librarian Incentive to Boost Recruitment and Retention in Areas of Need (LIBRARIAN) Act This legislation addresses our nation's looming librarian shortage by encouraging prospective students to enter librarian masters programs by providing student loan forgiveness.

National Crime Gun Identification Act Nearly forty percent of all homicides nationwide go unsolved each year. This legislation would give investigators of gun crimes an important new tool to pursue and prosecute criminals by requiring the use of microstamped identifiers on all semiautomatic pistols after 2009.
