Founded in 1887, Occidental College is one of the oldest liberal arts colleges in the West. Occidental was founded in 1887 by a group of Presbyterians and became independent of the church in 1910. Although initially located in Boyle Heights, the College moved to Highland Park in 1898. The current campus, Oxy's third location, was occupied in 1914 after the Highland Park campus was outgrown. The Eagle Rock campus covers over 120 acres, much of it undeveloped land on a hill known on campus as "Mt. Fiji." |

Los Angeles City College is a community college in the Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles. The college is located on Vermont Avenue south of Santa Monica Boulevard. Using the campus formerly occupied by the University of California, Los Angeles, before UCLA moved to its present location in Westwood, Los Angeles City College was founded in 1929. The college is known as LACC or simply as "City.". |

Los Angeles Trade Technical College is located just south of Downtown Los Angeles and north of University of Southern California. It had been a high school before it became a community college in 1954. LA Trade-Tech is its abbreviated name and it is known as a school offering numerous vocational programs for our community.

Southwestern Law School |
Southwestern University School of Law was founded on November 25, 1911, as the Southwestern College of Law. John J. Schumacher, its founder, intended the nonprofit institution to be a law school that reached out to women and minorities. The school is one of the oldest law schools in the state of California and the second oldest law school in Los Angeles.

Mount St. Mary's College's Doheny Campus is located near downtown LA and opened in 1962 on what was once the Doheny Family estate. Academic programs on the downtown campus include the Mount’s graduate degree programs, the associate in arts program, the education credential program, and the Weekend College, which offers a baccalaureate degree program to working adults. |
