31st Congressional District Student Art Competition
 2009 First Place Winner Joshua Frausto of Eagle Rock High School, 'We The People"
All High School students who reside in the 31st Congressional District are eligible to compete in the annual High School Art Competition. The winner of the contest receives:

An all expense paid trip to Washington D.C.

His or her artwork hangs in the U.S. Capitol for one year.

Showcased at Dodger Stadium pre-game

More great prizes for 2nd, 3rd and honorable mention
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
2010 Theme: TBD
Deadline for Entries: TBD, 2010
· Art work must arrive at Congressman Becerra's District Office by 5 p.m. on the due date.
· All artwork must have a signed student release form securely attached.
· Each entry must be original in concept, design, and execution and may not violate any U.S. copyright laws. Any entry which has been reproduced from an existing photo, painting, or any work produced by another person is a violation of the competition rules and will not be accepted!

STUDENT REQUIREMENTS
· Participants must be high school students
· Participants must reside in the 31st Congressional District
ARTWORK GUIDELINES
Categories:
· Paintings: Oil, Acrylics, Watercolor, Etc.
· Drawings: Pastels, pencil, charcoal, ink, etc.
· Collage: Must be 2 dimensional
· Prints: Lithographs, silkscreens, block prints
· Mixed Media: Must be 2 dimensional
· Computer generated art
· Photography
Size Requirements
· Two-Dimensional ONLY
· Each piece can be no larger than 30 inches by 30 inches to outside of frame
· Each piece can be no smaller than 8.5 inches by 11 inches
· No more than 4 inches in depth
