WASHINGTON, D.C. TOUR REQUESTS

The Capitol of the United States

General Information

Thank you for visiting my Web site to find out more about tours my staff can arrange for you when visiting Washington, D.C.  I hope you will consider my office your home away from home during your stay, and encourage you to come by and visit.  My office is located in the Longworth House Office Building, Room 1119.

The Thomas Jefferson Memorial

Each tour has a different procedure for making a reservation.  You may hear results on a rolling basis, and often times, right up until the date of your departure.  Please be aware that even with significant advance notice tour requests for the most popular attractions are often difficult to fulfill, especially during the peak tourist season of February through August. I can not guarantee admission to any particular tour.

To help my staff schedule tours for you, please submit your request and accompanying security information to my office as soon as you have selected dates for your visit.  The more advance notice my staff has, the better the chance you will have of securing tours.  In the event that a congressional tour is not available, my staff can provide information on other popular attractions.

Please note that as a matter of Congressional courtesy, my office accommodates tours only for residents of the 31st Congressional District of California.  If you are not from my district, please contact your U.S. Representative or U.S. Senator to help you arrange your tours.

Below, please find specific information regarding some of the more popular destinations in our nation's capital.

United States Capitol

Capitol tours are given directly by my staff, and should be scheduled at least two weeks prior to the date requested.  Groups of 15 to 40 individuals should contact the tour coordinator as soon as possible. To arrange for a Capitol tour, complete the tour request form and return it to my District Office by mail, fax, or in person. Don't hesitate to contact my office with any questions.

White House

White House tours should be requested at minimum two months in advance of your visit.  In order to request a White House tour, you must fill out the Security Information Form.  This information is kept confidential by the tour coordinator and is promptly destroyed upon completion of your tour.  If you have questions regarding the transmission of this information, please call the tour coordinator in my Washington D.C. office.

Due to the popularity of White House tours, my office cannot guarantee White House tour spots.  My staff will do their best to work with your schedule and with the White House tour schedule to secure spots.

Supreme Court Tours

These tours should be requested at minimum two months in advance of your visit.  Groups of six or smaller can be accommodated for this attraction.
